March 23, 2009 - PRLog -- The Barceló Combe Grove Manor Hotel in Monkton Combe has been awarded two AA Rosettes for the quality of its luxury Georgian Restaurant.

The fine dining restaurant has achieved the award with a menu that features a choice of exquisite and delicious dishes such as salad of wood pigeon with Puy lentils, roast pheasant with root vegetables, pot roast chicken, and wood mushroom and Parmesan risotto.

According to the AA, it awards two rosettes to restaurants which “offer higher standards of food and better consistency, and where greater precision is apparent in the cooking and there is obvious attention to the quality and selection of ingredients.”

The hotel was informed of the accreditation following a “mystery shopper” assessment by an AA Inspector.

“We are delighted that the passion of our Head Chef and kitchen team has been recognized and two-rosette hotels restaurant status is a fitting reward for their hard work and commitment, “ says Sonya Young, General Manager at the Barceló Combe Grove Manor Hotel.

Head Chef Andy Hamer, who is from Bath, has been working toward the accreditation for the last 12 months. He has overseen menu development at the Georgian Restaurant and given it a strong local flavour.

“As one of the City’s leading hotels, we have recognized how important the quality and integrity of the food we offer to guests has become. Wherever possible, we source from local suppliers and producers to ensure that our food is fresh and delicious, as well as a reflection of our location and region,” he says.

Barceló, a Spanish-owned international hotel group, took over the running of the hotel from Paramount Hotels, in September 2007.

“Since we have redeveloped our menu, we have seen an increase in the number of hotel restaurant bookings, says Sonya. “Our Sunday Lunch Offer – which includes free use of the hotel swimming pool when you book a meal, from just £10-95 – has been proving particularly popular.”

Bookings for the Georgian Restaurant, including Sunday Lunch, can be made by calling the hotel on Tel: 01225 834 644.
