The Actors Hall of Fame Inducts 15 Acclaimed Actors From Movies, Broadway and TV

15 of the world's most distinguised dramatic artists have been inducted into The Actors Hall of Fame for 2009. The Actors Hall of Fame honors career achievement in Theatre, Film and Television, and were voted on by Hall of Fame's Board of Electors.

April 16, 2009 - PRLog -- (Seattle & Los Angeles) The names of the 15 distinguished dramatic artists who will be inducted this year into The Actors Hall of Fame, was announced today by The Actors Hall of Fame President, Rusty Citron.


The 2009 Inductees to The Actors Hall of Fame are:

Julie Andrews, Robert DeNiro, Dame Judi Dench, Robert Duvall, Kirk Douglas
Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, Olivia de Havilland, Hal Holbrook
Sir Anthony Hopkins, James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, William H. Macy
Dame Maggie Smith and Meryl Streep


The Actors Hall of Fame honors professional career achievement in Theatre, Film and Television. The specific criteria for nomination include; peer recognition and awards, humanitarian contribution to the dramatic arts and education, and a demonstrated advancement of the craft of acting.

Dramatic arts educators representing over 100 accredited colleges and universities, who are members of The Actors Hall of Fame's Board of Electors, nominate and vote for induction of eligible actors to The Actors Hall of Fame.

In making the announcement, Foundation President Rusty Citron said 'We are proud to recognize and honor the artistic and humanitarian achievements of these incredible dramatic artists. These new inductees join the 38 previously inducted charter members of The Actors Hall of Fame, and will continue to inspire all of us as we seek to enrich the lives of students through dramatic arts education."

The formal induction ceremony and celebration will take place later this year in Los Angeles.
