April 22, 2009 - PRLog -- The Architectural Ambler explores the history and architecture of historic districts listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the nation’s official list of certified historic districts and buildings. Any building, structure, or land area which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, or any building which is located in a registered historic district and is certified by the United States Secretary of the Interior as being of historic significance to its historic district, may be protected by a historic preservation easement, and the Trust is one of the largest preservation easement-holding organizations in the nation. There are hundreds of historic districts listed in the National Register, and each one tells a unique story from the history of the United States. The Ambler will bring these stories to you.

Columns supports historic architecture and historic preservation. Historic preservation is, at its heart, a grassroots movement nourished by the efforts of residents and business owners. These men and women appreciate the historic neighborhoods in which they live, and work to ensure that their historic communities remain intact for the enjoyment and enrichment of future generations. The Columns newsletter reports on preservation success stories enabled by preservation easements held by the Trust for Architectural Easements.

Preservation by Prevention is a monthly publication of the Trust for Architectural Easements. As Ben Franklin famously stated, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This aphorism applies to the care and upkeep of historic buildings. The most effective way for the owner of a historic building to prevent costly repairs is to properly maintain the building. This newsletter provides valuable tips and information for property owners to use to care for historic buildings and the feature that give them character.

Reduce, Reuse, Rehab is a monthly publication of the Trust for Architectural Easements that discusses various topics connected to the relationship between sustainability and historic preservation. Historic preservation is fundamentally sustainable in that its practice uses existing built resources and encourages reinvestment in older communities. The Trust for Architectural Easements actively seeks to incorporate the principles of sustainability into its work practices and in its own office environment.
