By: Ping Yang MOG (1-125) is found in the extracellular domain of Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG). MOG is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed exclusively in the central nervous system (CNS). Although MOG protein constitutes only 0.01-0.05% of the CNS myelin proteins, it is demonstrated that MOG protein is a crucial autoantigen for multiple sclerosis in humans and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in rodents and monkeys.1-6 References: 1.
