Scott Lay Joins Crosland's Raleigh Office as Project Manager, Contracting

May 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Raleigh, N.C.  – Crosland LLC, one of the Triangle’s leading real estate companies, announces the promotion of Scott Lay to project manager in its Raleigh contracting division. As part of his new role, Lay will oversee all of Crosland’s contracting activities, including estimation, buyouts, construction contracting, budgets, schedules and customer service. Lay joins the Raleigh office from Crosland’s Florida operations, where he strengthened the company’s land division by introducing several new single family communities, such as Longleaf and Oak Creek and commercial project, MiraBay Village.

As a project manager, Lay will work within Crosland’s Contracting division to manage third-party contracts and oversee the company’s expanding projects portfolio in the Triangle region. He will be Crosland’s lead project manager for Griffith’s Landing in Carrboro, and assist with residential communities Chapel Hill North and Chapel Watch Village in Chapel Hill. Lay’s responsibilities include overseeing the planning, management and supervision of construction activity.

Lay has 10 years of experience in engineering, land development and construction. Prior to his new appointment, Lay was Florida’s director of land development, managing all of Crosland’s land development activities from planning and rezoning to engineering and construction. Prior to joining Crosland in 2005, Lay was the Director of Operations for WDG Construction in Tampa, Fla. and an Environmental Project Engineer for HK Bell Consulting Engineers in Lexington, Ky.

Lay graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Kentucky, and currently belongs to the university’s College of Engineering Alumni Association. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Crosland employs 85 people in the Raleigh-Durham market and currently has more than 1,400 multi-family units under development, 750,000 square feet of retail space and six single-family communities that include 3,000 residential lots purchased or under contract.
