Glendale Lacrosse Offers Free Instructional Lacrosse Clinic and Game to Open Indoor SeasonThe Glendale Lacrosse League (GLL) is offering all kids, ages 5 to 17, the chance to learn the fastest growing team sport in America free of charge as part of opening day for the indoor summer box lacrosse season.
As part of the opening day registration event for the indoor summer box lacrosse season, the GLL will provide instruction and equipment free for one hour of practice followed by a full hour game with no commitment needed to sign up for the season. Although limits have yet to be announced, those interested are encouraged to come early for what is expected to be a very large turnout. Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, is still in it's infancy here in Arizona. While over 3,000 players are registered to area clubs, the sport is not yet included in the public school system. A combination of basketball, soccer and hockey anyone can play lacrosse--the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not size. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. Box Lacrosse is played 6 on 6 inside a hockey rink. New players pick up the game easily because the ball never goes out of bounds, and the experienced players enjoy the constant action, high scoring, and transition from offense to defense. The GLL will play Summer Indoor Box Lacrosse Saturdays from July 18th to August 29th from 9 AM until 3 PM, with U11, U13 and U17, two hours per division at Castle Sports Club in Phoenix AZ.
