June 12, 2009 - PRLog -- The SCHOOL OF ROCK ALL-STARS’ MIDWEST TOUR kicks off July 17 in Dallas Texas and covers 10 cities in 10 days.  “The All Stars are the best musicians among the thousands of students nationally studying in the Paul Green School of Rock Music system,” explains Rick Carney, the tour’s Music Director.

“The students went through a rigorous selection process in order to secure one of the coveted spots with this elite band.  This tour provides them a real-world taste of being a professional musician while providing the audiences an unparalleled night of great music, unlike anything they’ve ever experienced.”  After a short pause Carney added, “That isn’t just my opinion. During a West Coast tour SF Weekly called the All Stars’ performance "jaw-dropping” and national music blog Blah3.com advised, “ Go see them if you can, you won't be disappointed. They deliver.”

Rockers of all ages can catch this tour up the I-35 corridor, east on Interstate 90 and back southwest again on I-44.

“These tremendously talented teen musicians (13-18 years old) represent the FUTURE OF ROCK MUSIC. They are the best and brightest students from the School of Rock Music’s 55+ locations nationwide,” added Paige Peavler, Midwest Regional Director.   “This all-ages concert is a terrific chance for parents and kids to enjoy a night of rock together…and both generations are guaranteed to enjoy themselves.”

School of Rock Music (http://www.schoolofrock.com) students learn, practice and perform locally year-round in their respective School of Rock Music branches. Each February students are invited to audition for the Summer Tour.  “Being selected for this tour is like winning an American Music Award for a professional musician,” explained Nate Beck, a former All Star Tour member, graduate of the School of Rock and now professional musician.

“It gives you a real taste of what it’s like to be a touring musician. For me, the tour confirmed my desire to be a professional musician. That’s what makes the School of Rock so much better than other music lessons. Not only do you get excellent music training but you also get the opportunity to perform. And if you take your music seriously you also get exposure to other parts of the business, like touring, to give you a true sense of what a career as a musician is like. I learned more at School of Rock than I did as a student at Musicians’ Institute, which is music college! And, quite honestly the All Stars are as good as, if not better, than a lot of the bands I’m hearing here in L.A.!”

About School of Rock Music:
The Paul Green School of Rock Music was founded in 1998 with one simple but firm belief; that the best way to learn to play music is to PLAY MUSIC. Toward that end, we have spent the last ten years putting our students on the greatest stages in the country…from the legendary CBGBs in NYC to the Whiskey in LA, with performances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and innumerable amazing venues and events in between. By doing so, we hope to instill in our students an appreciation of hard work and love of music that will stay with them their entire lives.

The Paul Green School of Rock is the original and premier performance-based rock music school in the country for kids 7-18.  Founded on Green’s original program of weekly, individualized instruction sessions augmented by rigorous group rehearsals, the Paul Green School of Rock effectively motivates students to practice—driven by frequent performances where they discover that how hard they work leads directly to applause, the most beautiful music of all. Each year, the 45 School of Rock branches around the country give more than 1,000 concerts at established venues including The Whiskey, BB King’s and Carnegie Hall and at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Zappanale and the annual SORFest.  The School’s All-Stars have performed with Alice Cooper, Butthole Surfers, Eddie Vedder and Perry Farrell, among others, and have toured with Jon Anderson of Yes as his featured back-up band. Founded in 1998, the Paul Green School of Rock Music was the subject of the documentary Rock School, which regularly airs on A&E since its debut at Sundance in 2005. The School also served as the apparent inspiration for the Jack Black hit comedy, School of Rock. Currently in a period of rapid expansion, the Paul Green School of Rock (http://www.schoolofrock.com) plans to open in more than 60 locations by end of 2009.
