Follow on Google News | A Wish Come True: Baylor’s Big AdventureKEMAH, Texas - A little boy with a life-threatening illness has the wish of his life with Kids Wish Network.
You see, Nicole’s son, Baylor, was diagnosed with Fanconi’s anemia. This is a genetic disease that ceases the production of bone marrow and is characterized by bone anomalies, leukemias, solid tumors and short stature. Baylor was born without thumbs and has had to endure plastic surgery. Every two to three months Baylor must go in to have his blood checked and every year he must have his bone marrow checked. This year, Baylor has also had to endure yet another surgery, this time to lengthen his bones. When she called Kids Wish Network and told them about her little boy and his wish to visit Disney World, it wasn’t long before Wish Coordinator Vanessa began to organize a very special vacation for Baylor and his family. With the help of Wish Funding Specialist Doris and some wonderful sponsors, Vanessa secured tickets to every major theme park in Orlando for Baylor to enjoy, accommodations at the famous Royal Plaza Hotel and arranged for Baylor and his family to experience the swashbuckling fun at the Pirates Dinner Adventure! “The trip was perfect,” said Nicole. “All of the details were just perfect.” With a packed itinerary, Baylor and his family enjoyed every minute in Florida. His favorite part of the whole trip was the fact that all of the Disney characters he met signed the cast he was wearing after recovering from his bone-lengthening surgery. Another thing Baylor had a blast with was the Pirates Dinner Adventure. He was thrilled that he got to participate in the show and he just adored the attention. “Everything and everyone was just great,” said Baylor’s mom, Nicole. “It couldn’t have been better.” Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Baylor’s wish extra special: American Legion Post 554 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Riders Post 554, Chapter of Eastern Star #621, Compassion Partners, WonderWorks, Pirates Dinner Adventure, The Royal Plaza Hotel and Chili’s Bar & Grill.
