1. Move the ball up 4 to 6 inches in your stance.

2. Shift your weight smoothly from your back foot to your front foot in your swing.

3. Concentrate on your shoulder turn.

Most of the time, it is advised just stay relaxed and swing without thinking. Although that does not make much sense at all, but it works because the less you think about your swing, the less likely you are going to make mistakes mid swing.

Also, try moving the ball up 4 to 6 inches in your stance. The ball should be around the inside of your left heel. This helps with ball trajectory. You don't want to sky the ball, but you do want some height to your shot. When you do this, it can easily add 10 yards to your drives.

Now that is just one thing you can do to improve your distance. Another option is to work on shifting your body weight during your swing smoothly. This helps you by using more of your core muscles in the swing and lets your body hit the ball. it may sound strange, but the more muscles in your body you use during your swing, the better distance you will get. So it is utmost important to develop a well built core with specific exercises and proper nutrition.

Also try to concentrate on your shoulder turn. Turning your shoulder happens naturally during your swing, but if you focus on it, you can generate much more torque in your swing. This results in more of a "whip" to your swing that can generate some serious power.
