STAA Debuts All-Star Sportscasting Coaching Team

STAA is offering sportscasting coaching from NBA and ESPN sports broadcasting pros

June 22, 2009 - PRLog -- STAA has launched a new sportscasting coaching program featuring the talents of Indiana Pacers play-by-play broadcaster Mark Boyle, network TV sports broadcaster Larry Burnett, Oklahoma City Thunder play-by-play broadcaster Matt Pinto and former ESPN Radio Network host and current STAA CEO Jon Chelesnik.

STAA's sportscasting coaching program is designed to help clients increase their salary and take their play-by-play and sports talk careers to the next level. Clients choose one or more sportscasting coaches from the STAA team based on which skills the client wishes to improve. Clients will then receive a 40-minute phone critique and coaching session with the undivided attention of Boyle, Burnett, Pinto or Chelesnik. David Jackson is the play-by-play voice at Appalachian State. He called one of the great upsets in college football history when the Mountaineers won at the University of Michigan. He has also used STAA's sportscasting coaching services. “My coaching session was everything I hoped for and more," Jackson says. "It was invaluable having another professional listen to my play-by-play and getting a quality take on things I may not necessarily realize about myself. To have a professional set of ears listen to my work is something that can only help me grow as a broadcast professional.”

Each member of STAA's sportscasting coaching team has a variety of experience to pass on to young sports broadcasters. In addition to serving as the Pacers radio play-by-play broadcaster for the last 21 years, Boyle has also done sports talk, NFL, MLB, NHL and college basketball and football. Burnett has hosted ESPN SportsCenter, is a former TV voice of the Los Angeles Lakers and has won two Emmy Awards for outstanding TV sportscasting. Another veteran of the NBA with 20 years of radio and TV play-by-play experience in the league, Pinto has also done play-by-play in football and baseball. Prior to founding STAA, Chelesnik was the host of Weekend AllNight on the ESPN Radio Network and a sports broadcaster at Sporting News Radio Network. Together, Boyle, Burnett, Pinto and Chelesnik have a wealth of advice that is being made available to rising sportscasters.

Sports talk host and update anchor Pat Steinberg of The Fan 960 in Calgary says, "You [STAA] gave me some tips on my sports updates and running my show. At the time I thought the tips were helpful, but since really applying them, I'm blown away at just how much smoother and better I sound"
