June 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Pursey is a small lizard who lives in a colony in a pebble wall. His job is to collect food but he finds himself daydreaming constantly about becoming a mouse. Finally Pursey is sent to Queen Pebble who demands to know why he is not able to do his work. When Pursey confesses to the Queen that he really wants to be a mouse, she sends him away to follow his dream.

Pursey goes to a small cottage nearby and meets a little mouse named “Moose.” After a close call with the vicious cat of the house, the two enter into Moose’s house where Pursey learns about mousetraps and other perils of being a mouse. Finally he decides that he’s had enough and returns to the pebble wall where he agrees to work harder than ever to be the best lizard he can be.

The Lizard who Wanted to be a Mouse is a delightful tale written by young author Allyson Russell with whimsical illustrations by Jennifer Bubp. Children will enjoy accompanying starry-eyed Pursey on his adventure and in the end will learn that sometimes the best you can do is to be true to yourself.
