Howler Technologies introduces high-performance, low-price G.729 codec for Asterisk & Freeswitch

June 29, 2009 - PRLog -- The G.729 Howlet gives Freeswitch and Asterisk users the ability to transcode audio to and from G.729 more cost-effectively than ever before.

The ability to transcode calls between G.711 and G.729 creates more opportunities for revenue, as VoIP providers can take on traffic from sources they were previously unable to. Many business-class IP telephones and VoIP gateways now require support for G.729.
