Follow on Google News | Triangle TRACKS and N.C. Museum of Art Host ‘Old-Fashioned Summer Fun’ Blog-Writing ContestSite seeks blogs about summer traditions parents are passing on to their kids.
By: Elizabeth Shugg Anyone who has a log-in to the site is eligible to participate, since you must be registered as a member in order to post a blog. Members may wish to write about operating a lemonade stand, enjoying grandpa’s homemade ice cream or catching fireflies, for example. Participants are asked to post their stories on the Triangle TRACKS blog by Wednesday, July 8. Triangle TRACKS Owner and Editor Elizabeth Shugg will feature all entries on the home page Thursday, July 9. Triangle TRACKS members will then be asked to vote for the “old-fashioned summer fun tradition” they identify with the most from their own childhood by the end of the day July 10, and the winning entries will be posted on the home page July 11. Writers of the top two winning blogs will each get a four-pack of tickets to an outdoor concert performed by Grammy winner Dan Zanes and Friends at the North Carolina Museum of Art July 18. They will also receive a Dan Zanes CD. Writers of the third- and fourth-place winning blogs will each receive a four-pack of tickets to the North Carolina Museum of Art's outdoor showing of "Kung Fu Panda" July 11. Both events will be held in the 2,700-capacity open-air theater Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park. Access the N.C.
