Just before Aidan’s third birthday, doctors told his family that he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the blood. He has gone through a lot since his diagnosis, such as blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, blood marrow testing and two-and-a-half years of chemotherapy treatments. All the chemotherapy has taken a toll on Aidan’s immune system and he has to miss a lot of school due to illness. He also suffers from asthma and multiple allergies. After learning about Kids Wish Network through a family friend, Aidan’s mother, Colleen, gave them a call. It wasn’t long before little Aidan made his one wish known to Wish Coordinator, Jill: to visit Walt Disney World in Florida. Along with the assistance of Wish Funding Specialist, Donna, and some outstanding sponsors, Jill worked her magic and set up an awesome family getaway for Aidan and his family. This fabulous vacation included a stay at The Royal Plaza Hotel, dinner at the Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater and, of course, tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort and all of the other major Orlando theme parks! Once in Orlando, Aidan and his family enjoyed a real action-packed vacation; their itinerary was booked with fantastic activities and awesome places to visit. Even their dinners were planned out! Kids Wish Network thought of everything and Aidan had the time of his young life on his wish trip. Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Aidan’s wish extra special: International Association of Firefighters Local 83, Elks Lodge #803, Compassion Partners, WonderWorks, Pirates Dinner Adventure, The Royal Plaza Hotel, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and T.G.I.
