'Insomnia Cafe' Podcast To Return For 6 Weekly Episodes.

July 7, 2009 - PRLog -- Returning for a third run of shows since it's launch in 2006, the 'Insomnia Cafe' podcast has a growing reputation as an excellent, free way to hear new music from both established and up-and-coming artists.

Season 2 included exclusive interviews with critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Eilen Jewell, Leonard Cohen collaborator Sharon Robinson, and Meat Loaf's long-term leading lady Patti Russo. Patti has since gone on to perform nightly in Las Vegas with Cher, fulfilling a lifelong ambition that she discussed during her special episode of the show!

"As the show has become better known, more options have been open to us. These interviews have really helped to put the show on the map," says show host and compiler Michael E. "We certainly have plans for more interview specials in the future, but for these short weekly episodes - which we're calling 'Insomnia Fridays' - we're taking it very much back to basics. The aim will be to introduce listeners to 3 or 4 exciting artists at a time, and hopefully at least one of them will inspire you to investigate further."

"The original concept for the show was for it to basically be like an eclectic mix-tape. Back in the days of cassettes, long before everyone had an internet connection, the mix-tape was always a great way to discover new artists."

"So our listeners will be getting a 20 minute digital mix delivered every week for the summer - and I can promise it will sound a lot better than a C-90", he adds.

The show's always-diverse playlist has previously included music from the likes of Nick Cave, Nicole Atkins, Crash Test Dummies, Jolie Holland, Bill Hicks, Alice Cooper, Barenaked Ladies and Marianne Faithfull.

'Insomnia Fridays' begins July 10th, 2009.
