The GIP Scheme is the shortest route to permanent residence in Singapore if you have sufficient funds to either launch a new enterprise or make investments into an existing business. What are the Global Investment Programme (GIP) options? The Singapore GIP scheme provides you with three options. These are: Option A: Invest at least S$1 million in a new business startup or expansion of an existing business operation. Option B: Iinvest at least S$1.5 million in a new business startup, expansion of an existing operation, or a GIP-approved fund. Option C: Invest at least S$2 million in a new business startup, expansion of an existing operation, or a GIP-approved fund. Who is eligible? There are two assessment criteria for entrepreneurs who wish to be assessed for the Singapore Global Investor Programme: 1. Applicants with entrepreneurial and business track record; and 2. Applicants who are senior corporate managers but without entrepreneurial and business track record. Applicants with entrepreneurial and business track record must: a) Possess at least three (3) years of entrepreneurial track record and must produce audited financial statements of his company for the last three (3) years. b) Have a company turnover of at least: - S$10 million per annum in the most recent year; and - S$10 million per annum on average for the last three years. c) Your share ownership, company role and profitability will be taken into account. Applicants who are senior corporate managers without entrepreneurial track record must: a) Have at least 10 years of corporate management experience b) Must be presently holding a senior management role in a company such as a Chairman, CEO, CFO, CTO, etc. c) Your company turnover must be at least S$100 million. d) You must choose Option A for the Global Investment Programme application.
