Reiki Teleclass To Benefit Homeless Animals in Local Shelters and Sanctuaries

July 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL – Animal Spirit Healing and Education® Network will host the teleclass Reiki in Animal Shelters and Sanctuaries taught by Kathleen Prasad, a Reiki Master teacher and Founder and Director of Animal Reiki Source.  

The international teleclass will be held on July 22, 2009 from 8 p.m. to 9:15 pm CST. Fifty percent of the $20 tuition will benefit SARA: Shelter Animal Reiki Association a non-profit organization founded by Prasad focused on  helping Reiki practitioners who want to share their gifts with animal shelters and sanctuaries.

Reiki in Animal Shelters and Sanctuaries will discuss:
•   Approaching facilities to volunteer
•   Once you are "in" what to do
•   Preparation meditation
•   How to approach animals: guidelines and ethics
•   Benefits of Reiki for shelter animals
•   Challenges practitioners can face
•   A few tips for: Dogs, Cats, Horses
•   SARA: Shelter Animal Reiki Association

Prasad is a life-long animal lover and an educator for fifteen years, during that time designing curriculum and community projects in animal kindness for her students. She co-authored the book Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life, authored the first code of ethics for the profession, The Animal Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics, and most recently co-authored the book The Animal Reiki Handbook. The Animal Reiki Handbook was written in conjunction with members of SARA: Shelter Animal Reiki Association, which Prasad co-founded to support the growing number of Reiki Practitioners who wish to establish programs in their local shelters.
