Meltzer Lippe Secures Critical, Immediate Relief for LI Co. Targeted in Misleading Chapter 11 Filing

July 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Threatened by a misleading Chapter 11 filing in federal bankruptcy court in Florida, Contemporary Computer Services, Inc. (CCSI) received immediate legal help from Lew Meltzer and Joshua A. Berman, partners at Mineola-based Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone LLP (MLGB), who during an emergency motion hearing on July 10, were able to successfully obtain critical legal relief for their client.  
   CCSI, which employs over 60 Long Islanders, was threatened by a misleading Chapter 11 filing by a formerly related corporation that brought an emergency motion to gain control of CCSI’s receivables by mischaracterizing them as assets belonging to the debtor’s estate.  With only 48 hours notice, Meltzer and Berman forced the debtor’s lawyers to withdraw their request for control over CCSI’s assets, and compelled them to represent to the Court that the debtor’s request for relief had been withdrawn as to CCSI.
