July 28, 2009 - PRLog -- FRANKFORT, KY — The Kentucky Arts Council has awarded $1,851,657 to 87 Kentucky non-profit arts and cultural organizations for FY2010, through the Kentucky Arts Partnership grant program. Kentucky Arts Partnership grants are competitive matching grants awarded for operational support to organizations across the state. This public investment in museums, galleries, guilds, performing arts venues, performing groups, local arts councils, and educational and community groups provides Kentuckians opportunities to participate in and enjoy a wide variety of art forms.

“We are very pleased to be able to continue public support for the arts in these difficult economic times. These organizations lay the foundation for building community, provide arts education experiences and sustain artists in their work,” said Lori Meadows, executive director of the Kentucky Arts Council.

The Kentucky Arts Council is the state arts agency, creating opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
