Lincoln Maly Marketing, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based integrated marketing, media relations, PR and corporate communications firm, has announced that national author, speaker and customer service expert, Joan Fox, has written the second guest column in a series of monthly posts on the Lincoln Maly Marketing website. Fox is owner and president of Eagle Inspiration Training & Development, Inc., a national firm specializing in management development and customer service strategizing and training, also based in Cincinnati.

Joan Fox’s column ponders the question of the often lackluster level of customer service by so many who serve in the guest services industry. She poses the question: is it possible for hearts such as those that beat in iconic symbols and ultimate servants such as Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr. and John F. Kennedy, to also beat in the bodies of those who routinely serve customers?

Lincoln Maly Marketing introduced the new series of monthly guest columns in June 2009 with a particularly stirring first guest column installment by John Pepper, former CEO for P&G and current non-executive Chairman of the Board of Disney. The columns will continue to appear monthly on the lincolnmalymarketing.com website.

Principal partner of Lincoln Maly Marketing, Joanne Maly, explained, “The company’s guest column concept offers persons of true vision and leadership a forum to share their own personal passion – a passion that perhaps ties into their own business experience, but also reveals the unique personality of that person and taps into a reader’s own heart.”

Maly commented that Joan Fox’s and John Pepper’s columns capture the very essence of what the company’s guest column concept is all about.

“The featured monthly guest columns will be written by persons who inspire others, and who have inspired me, to ‘make a difference.’ Whether that difference is to encourage others to be generous, creative and innovative; to use business acumen to help others in need; to encourage the artistic side in each of us; or to recognize the imaginative, the resourceful, and the out-of-the-box idea generators -- my hope is that the guest columns will inspire, motivate, and incite energy, ideas, leadership, excellence, risk-taking and action in readers.”

In Mr. Pepper’s inspiring June 2009 guest column post, “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It”, he tells a story involving the Walt Disney Company, in particular Pixar, the producer of many great films, including “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles”, “Finding Nemo”, “A Bug’s Life”, “Cars”, and, most recently, “UP.”

Mr. Pepper writes about the vision, obstacles and persistence of John Lassiter, Ed Catmull, and Steve Jobs, while creating the Pixar company. In his column, Pepper explains, “The creation of Pixar is all about “a dream” and the persistence and conviction of the people involved that they could make that dream come true; that they could “do it.”

Maly explained that she perceives her company’s guest column pieces to be different from blog entries, white-papers, or magazine articles. Maly explained, “The columns are (1) a personal message (2) from a truly awesome person (3) who I see as an example for others in business and in life and, who, with their story, will (4) tap into a reader’s heart.
