PRLog -- LOS ANGELES…greenscreen®
, a Los-Angeles-
based green wall manufacturer, is scheduled to exhibit at the 2009 American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Annual Meeting and Expo, September 18-21, in Chicago. Additionally, internal greenscreen®
expert James Sable will be presenting an education session on green wall design during the upcoming show.
greenscreen®
offers an innovative three-dimensional wire space frame configuration that creates a three-inch deep growing space, allowing plants to intertwine and grow within the panel. With an easily adaptable attachment clip system, the panel can attach to a building façade and span openings between floors or horizontally between posts. Using greenscreen®
can help increase energy efficiency by offering an organic shading system to the building envelope, thus naturally reducing heat build-up indoors. It also improves air quality in both interior and exterior applications.
“With the greenscreen®
system, users can add aesthetic variety to architecture by using plant materials that also benefit the environment,”
says James Sable of greenscreen®
. “The components of greenscreen®
allow it to be non-intrusive to the building envelope as well as highly diverse. This multifaceted element can act as a wall, change a façade or create an environment.”
Committed to creating sustainable building elements for the architecture and building community, Sable is currently a director at greenscreen®
and has been studying and working with green wall design for 12 years. He is scheduled to present “Sustainable Design Materials: Green Walls” at the 2009 ASLA Expo on Friday, September 18, at 3:30 p.m.
“This is an opportunity to discuss a green wall design checklist, focusing specifically on the sustainability and design issues important to the building and architecture community today,” Sable explains.
Sable and Randy Sharp of Sharp & Diamond Landscape Associates will lead the 90-minute session, which will offer participants 1.5 professional development hours (PDH) through the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System. In addition to sitting in on the presentation, the 7,000-plus attendees will be able to visit James at the greenscreen®
booth #1930 at the 2009 ASLA Annual Meeting and Expo.
