Sept. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Tel Aviv, Israel,  SAFE CITY Tel Aviv 2009, an international summit to discuss the rise in organized and violent crime in cities throughout the world, will be held in Tel Aviv from November 30 – December 6, 2009. The conference will be held in the framework of Israel Gateway – the 7th International Foreign Trade Conference and Exhibition. The conference will be followed by a unique behind the scenes training tour called “Experience Israel”.

Personal safety has become a pressing issue in Israel in recent weeks, as a rise in violent crime has caused political and police officials to look to international models of municipal police forces for possible solutions. At the same time, over the past decade the issue of Homeland Security, as well as the war on violent and organized crime have become major challenges to governmental and law enforcement agencies around the world.

Safe City will be the first conference of its kind to examine all aspects of modern policing on a municipal level. The event will bring together security experts from across the globe, as well as mayors, city managers, police chiefs and commissioners, media representatives and other governmental representatives.

Alongside the conference there will be a specialized, high technology trade event with exhibits of the latest international technology and integrated systems for homeland security. In addition, the conference will be followed by a specialized, behind-the-scenes learning experience in Israel from 2nd December to 6th December.

The conference will feature addresses by Israel Minister of Finance Dr. Yuval Steinitz, Israel Minister of Internal Security Yitzhak Aharonovich, former Police Commissioner Assaf Hefetz, Chairman of the Union of Local Authorities Mayor Shlomo Buchbut, the mayors of Tel Aviv and Netanya, and police and municipal officials from the U.S., Australia, South Africa and other parts of the world.

The conference is being organized by Global Gate Group together with MK International Security Consulting Ltd. , with the support of the Israel Ministry of Industry, Commerce
and Labor, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Union of Local Authorities in Israel. Corporate sponsors include the Mer Group and Nice Technologies.
