By: TMNewberry Clinton Kersey was born in Roanoke Virginia of his late parents Clinton W. and Marion Carr Kersey on June 21, 1949. at age 60, He departed this world on September 19, 2009 while residing in Gaithersburg, Maryland with his dearly loved and devoted wife of 38 years, Kathryn Schock Kersey. He is survived by his adoring Daughter Heather Kathryn Welter, (Wife of Charles); He was dedicated to his treasured Grandchildren Haley and McKenzie Welter; His brother Phillip W. Kersey and cherished sister Kate Kersey Larkin (Wife of Tim) and adored uncle of Carly and Hannah Larkin, Drew and Bryce Kersey. Clinton "Butch" Kersey is also remembered by many loving relatives and compassionate friends. Clinton Kersey was a graduate of both FURMAN UNIVERSITY located in Greenville, SC, And DUKE DIVINITY SCHOOL at DUKE UNIVERSITY found in Durham NC. he obtained a The Master of Divinity Degree, a professional theological degree, and continued to work locally towards a Doctorate. He continued his close ties with DUKE by serving in the Alumni Assocation. These preceding four years Clinton served as the active Senior Pastor of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church of N.W. Washington DC., he was formerly the Assistant Pastor of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg MD. The Family will receive friends Saturday September 26, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 Pm. at the Pumphrey Funeral home on located at 300 W. Montgomery Ave. Rockville, Maryland 21850.
