By: Madison Ice Muskies The Flint Generals and the Madison Ice Muskies are pleased to announce that the two organizations have come to terms on a working affiliation for the 2009-2010 season. Flint is a member of the “AA” International Hockey League, while Madison will be participating in the “A” level All American Hockey League. The agreement will benefit both clubs through player development and affirms the strong relationship between the two leagues. “This affiliation proves the confidence that Flint has in the AAHL,” said Madison General Manager John Rudolph. “Our club will strive to prepare players to be called up to Flint and we look forward to working with their prospects. This affiliation will be a great benefit for our players as they will all have the opportunity to advance to the IHL by honing their skills with us.” Peter South, the General Manager in Flint and Ice Muskies Head Coach Rod Davidson has a history of working together. Last season, Davidson attended the Generals training camp as an on ice coach. As part of the affiliation agreement, Davidson will assist Generals Head Coach Jason Muzzatti during next months training camp. “I am thrilled to be affiliated with Flint,” said Davidson. “I strongly believe that this will benefit both organizations and should really open the eyes of many prospective players. Flints opens the season with a home contest against Muskegon on Friday October 16th, while the Ice Muskies season opener commences on Friday October 23rd in Madison versus Evansville. End
