Isle Of Capri Properties Support Local Cancer Charities During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Oct. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Throughout the month of October, Isle of Capri Casino properties across the country will recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a variety of events to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer support organizations in their local areas.

In addition, Isle of Capri Casinos has partnered with internationally-known jewelry designer Diane Katzman to create a custom-designed keychain as prizes for some of these events. Many properties will also be giving away Katzman’s freshwater pearl bracelet. Diane Katzman Design will donate 10% from Isle of Capri’s purchase to the St. Louis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation.

Gaming enthusiasts are encouraged to participate in the following events and support local charitable cancer organizations:

Florida

October 10 — Isle Casino Pompano Park in Pompano Beach, Fla., will host Steps For Life, a three mile walk to benefit Gilda’s Club of South Florida. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.; the walk begins at 9 a.m. A $25 registration fee includes breakfast, t-shirt, keychain and stuffed Sparkle dog. Walkers may bring their dogs along to participate. Missouri

October 12 — Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in Boonville, Mo. will host a $5,000 Play for the Cure Slot Tournament from 3-7 p.m. Registration is $10 and includes a buffet; all proceeds will be donated to the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation. Tournament registration begins September 28 at the casino.



October 7, 14, 21 & 28 — Each week, corporate employees of Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. will pay $5 to wear jeans on Wednesday. Donations will benefit the Friends of Kids with Cancer organization in St. Louis.

October 16 — Employees at Lady Luck Casino in Caruthersville will donate $5 to wear jeans. Money raised will benefit Lee National Denim Day.

Iowa

October 14 & 15 — In Waterloo, Iowa, Isle Casino Hotel will host a slot tournament and health fair on each day. The first 125 players to register for the slot tournaments will receive a custom-designed keychain and the top 50 finishers will receive a Diane Katzman freshwater pearl bracelet. Activities will be held from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on October 14 and 5-8 p.m. on October 15.

October 23-25 — All weekend long, events at Isle Casino Hotel in Bettendorf, Iowa, will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Quad Cities Affiliate®. Some of the activities include:
•   Saturday: $1 from every cash buffet sale will be donated
•   Sunday: $8,000 Play for the Cure Slot Tournament; $25 entrance fee includes a tournament packet with discounts and offers, first 300 registered participants will receive a custom-designed keychain. A portion of the entrance fee will be donated. Registration begins October 1 at the Isle.
•   Employees will help make a difference by paying $5 to wear jeans on Friday

Colorado

October 19 — At Isle Casino Hotel in Black Hawk, Co., guests can sign up to earn 3x points from 8 a.m. until midnight. For every person that enrolls, the Isle will donate $5 to the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Guests who earn 50 points will receive a Diane Katzman keychain. Employees will participate by making a $5 donation to wear jeans on this day.
