Follow on Google News | Thayer Hotel Hosts Special Autumn Wine DinnerThe historic Thayer Hotel at West Point is hosting an Autumn Wine Dinner featuring a four-course dinner and pairings of Chilean wines.
It all begins with a wine and cheese reception, followed by a delicious four-course dinner, featuring a variety of Chilean wines to be paired with each course. Start out with an appetizer of smoked duck and potato tart with walnut chutney, then enjoy a fresh crisp salad of mixed greens with goat cheese, heirloom tomatoes and citrus vinaigrette. Dine on a delectable entrée of roast rack of veal with lingonberry sauce, fingerling potatoes and haricot vert. Crepes filled with double chocolate sauce and truffles complete the meal. Dinner is $100 per person, or enjoy an overnight stay with breakfast for a total of $339 per couple. Originally constructed to accommodate U.S. Military Academy personnel and their guests, the Thayer Hotel was a successor of the original West Point Hotel. The Hotel is named for Colonel Sylvanus Thayer, Superintendent of the Academy from 1817 to 1833.
