Sohour of Hope in Cairo Marriott Hotel

Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Supporting Friends of Children with Cancer (FOCC), an Egyptian NGO registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarities under No. 231 since 1992, H.E. Bernd Erbel, the German Ambassador to Cairo held a fund raising Sohour at his residence to benefit FOCC's “Health & Hope Oasis“– the 1st nutritional and recreational center in Egypt totally funded by donations for children suffering from cancer and their families.
Located in the tranquil settings of Wadi Al Natroun; the “Health & Hope Oasis“ is designed to accommodate up to 300 children with their families to properly nourish the sick children in between cancer treatment sessions, to promote their immune system and protect them from secondary infections, and to ensure consistent and uninterrupted treatment sessions.  During the Sohour event, members of the FOCC in charge of the project illustrated the importance and the benefits children with cancer and their families would gain from such supportive care, without which treatment sessions can not be continued.
The event was attended by a number of popular public & social figures and sponsored by a large number of companies and organizations that much contributed to its success


أقام السفير الألمانى بالقاهرة حفل سحور خيرى فى منزله لصالح جمعية أصدقاء الأطفال المرضى بالسرطان وهى جمعية أهلية مسجلة بوزارة التضامن الإجتماعى تحت رقم 231 لسنة 1992 والتى تقوم بإنشاء "واحة الصحة والأمل" - أول مركز تغذية وإستشفاء فى مصر للأطفال المرضى بالسرطان وأسرهم ممول بالكامل من التبرعات.
صمم المشروع ليسع 300 طفلا وأسرهم، بمزرعة فى وادى النطرون للقيام على تغذية الأطفال المرضى بالغذاء الصحى السليم لمرحلة ما بين الجرعات العلاجية كى يرفع من مستوى الجهاز المناعى للمريض مما يؤدى إلى حمايته من المضاعفات الناجمة من إنخفاض المناعة وبالتالى التأكد من إستمرار العلاج فى مواعيده المقررة دون توقف. وقد استعرض القائمون على الواحة خلال برامج الحفل مدى الأهمية التى ستعود على الأطفال المرضى وأسرهم من هذه الرعاية المكملة للعلاج حيث أن الحالة العامة للمريض يترتب عليها إستمرار العلاج من عدمه. وقد حضر الحفل لفيف من الشخصيات العامة البارزة. كما شاركت مجموعة  من الشركات والمؤسسات لدعم المشروع من خلال رعاية حفل السحور مما ساهم فى إنجاحة بشكل كبير.
