By: Jonathan Joel Business Plan designers from E & D had this to say as an official statement, "The layout of a business plan is not an area where great imagination and creativity is needed or recommended. It should be a more or less straightforward task to design your plan, using industry standard practices which business leaders have become familiar with through thousands of plans." The head of Business Plan Development in E & D services, Miss Derisma, stressed the need for business owners to see industry standards. She was often quoted as saying, "A business without a plan to go anywhere is sure to end up no where." E & D services tells people to start by getting your hands on a business plan outline, sample, or template, especially if it is associated with the business sector which your business is within. This could be found online, within business plan books, or from a small business development center or similar resource center. Once you get your rough outline (as it will be far from professional) "It's always important to get 3rd party assessments as they tend not to be one sided. Most principals get wrapped up in their dream, and tend to see all the ways it can happen. It's equally important to show people how it couldn't happen." said Miss Derisma. Business plans generally start with an executive summary and company overview, move through background research and analysis on the industry, customers, and competition, describe the company's intended methods in the marketing plan and operation plan, show who the management team, and conclude with the financial plan and appendices featuring full financial statements. Use the sample or outline to guide your understanding of each section and to see how they relate to each other. Don't assume that any one example should dominate your understanding unless it comes from an extremely trusted source with a reputation for business plan expertise and success. Once you have your outline, general direction, and basic form then it's ready to go to a professional designer. # # # E & D Services is a business plan designer that specializes in helping business owners develop sound business models for operational success.
