Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- (RALEIGH, NC, USA) –  Anne Rice first made vampires sexy in “The Vampire Chronicles,” but Stephenie Meyer and her hugely popular “Twilight” series now rule supreme.

This Halloween, thanks to YourNovel.com, you can star in your own vampire eBook.

Author Gail Gibbs of Arizona has penned, “Vampire Rhapsody,” which can be ordered for quick download.

As with all YourNovel.com books and eBooks, “Vampire Rhapsody” can star any couple thanks to an online questionnaire of 26 details, including the couple’s names, hometown, places of work, eye and hair color, best friends’ names, favorite perfume and cologne, favorite music, how long they’ve been together, and more.

The eBook also can be ordered “wild” or “mild” in terms of the romantic interludes, as can all YourNovel.com titles.

In “Vampire Rhapsody,” the starring couple take a work/play vacation and encounter a pair of vampires who entice them into a game that tests the love of both couples.

This is the second time Gail Gibbs has written for YourNovel.com. She was one of the company’s romance-writing contest winners in 2002 to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Ten winning short stories — including her “Passion Among the Stars,” a romantic story set in outer space — was published in the anthology “Celebrating Romance,” still available on the company website, www.yournovel.com.

Gibbs says, “After I was selected to be published in ‘Celebrating Romance,’ I gained the confidence to submit my efforts to the marketplace and have had other encouraging successes. I had a great time writing ‘Passion Among the Stars,’ so I was excited to get an opportunity to work on this longer eBook for YourNovel.com.

“Writing is now my full-time passion with the goal of developing it into a full-time career.”

Gibbs also has published short stories in Church Educator and AlienSkin online magazine, and short pieces in Natural Health and True Confessions. The first chapters of her unpublished science fiction novel placed second in the sci-fi/fantasy category of the 2007 SouthWest Writers Annual Contest. She is a member of Arizona Mystery Writers and the Society of Southwestern Authors and won a commendation in their 2009 Writing Contest, including publication of her short story in The Story Teller. She also will have a story in the eBook version of the upcoming science fiction anthology Cheer Up, Universe.

After 25 years living in Silver City, NM, she and her husband of 28 years, Ron, moved just north of Tucson to Oro Valley, AZ, last year.

She met her own real-life sweetheart while working in the ore analysis lab of New Cornelia Mine at Ajo, AZ.

They have one daughter, Emily, who lives in Wisconsin with her husband, Jay David.

Gail Gibbs received a chemistry degree from the University of Arizona in 1978, and a business degree from Western New Mexico University in 1999. She’s worked a variety of jobs from mining labs to town clerk to non-profit accounting, and has written for her own enjoyment through it all.

Gibbs added, “I’ve always preferred reading and writing the genres of science fiction, mystery, romance, and adventure over mainstream fiction. Traditional horror is generally too intense for my taste, but the blend of supernatural and romance found in the paranormal romance genre is just right — especially the ‘lighter’ works, such as those by Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs and Stephenie Meyer. So when YourNovel.com offered me an opportunity to try my hand in this popular field, I jumped at the chance.

“Working with YourNovel.com has been an education,” the author added. “ ‘Vampire Rhapsody’ is different from any of the other YourNovel.com books, and Fletcher and Kathy (the owners) have been supportive from the moment I submitted the initial story concept. The editing was always constructive and encouraging, and I’m a better writer for it.”

“Vampire Rhapsody,” available from www.YourNovel.com for $24.95, is the third eBook the company has issued in two months. It joins “Danger in Dublin” by Monica Hunt Ellison and “Buried Love” by Katie Brown.

In all, YourNovel.com offers seven eBooks — other settings are Paris, Great Exuma in the Bahamas, Little Palm Island in FL, and The Reefs in Bermuda — and 25 full-length adventure-romance novels in either paperback (starting at $39.95) or hardback (starting at $84.95), and there’s the option to add a photo of the starring couple to the cover for $25 more. Paperbacks are generally delivered in one week in the U.S.; hardbacks take two weeks. But eBooks, once payment is approved, are quickly emailed to customers for their own download and printing.

The fastest way to order all titles is on the web at www.YourNovel.com. Those without Internet access can call (800) 444-3356 to have information faxed or mailed.

YourNovel.com’s founders, Kathy M. Newbern and J.S. Fletcher, who form the husband/wife writing team Fletcher Newbern, will soon issue their 19th book, in time for holiday gift giving. Their company originated personalized romance novels in 1992, and now has six additional writers.
