It’s a Jolly Holiday Season for Families at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester

Nov. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester will be brimming with Holiday delights for the entire family this December, including a Family Give-Back Holiday Open House, Gingerbread Cookie Decorating and Breakfast with Frosty and Friends!  All events are geared for children from ages 3 to 8.

It all begins on Sunday, December 6 when The Ritz-Carlton presents its Family Give-Back Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to noon.  Youngsters will enjoy a special visit from dancers from the Westchester Ballet Company’s “Nutcracker”, being performed at the Westchester County Center Friday, December 18 through Sunday, December 20.  In addition, there will be refreshments, face painting and Holiday activities from the Westchester Children’s Museum.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit Westchester Children’s Museum, which serves children in the New York metro area.

Families attending are also asked to bring new unwrapped books and pajamas as a gift to the Pajama Program, a not-for-profit organization that provides new warm pajamas and new books to children in need here in the U.S. and around the world.  

Many of these children live in orphanages, group homes or shelters, and many have been abused or abandoned.  Since 2001, the organization has provided more than 350,000 pajamas and 140,000 books to needy children.  The cost for the Family Give-Back Holiday Open House is $15 per person.  

On Saturday, December 12, from 9 to 11 a.m and from 1 to 3 p.m.., the hotel offers a fun-filled Gingerbread Cookie Decorating event.   Each child will receive a chef’s hat, apron, gingerbread cookies, and a decorating kit. The child with the best decorated cookie wins a special gift!     Refreshments will be served.  While the kids are having fun, adults can do some Holiday shopping at the spa or jewelry boutique. The cost for the Gingerbread Cookie Decorating event is $30 per person.

Then on Sunday, December 13 and 20, it’s Breakfast with Frosty and Friends from  9 to 11 a.m.  Kids will have the chance to meet Frosty, Snow White and Pinocchio from Westco Production Inc.’s presentation of “Frosty the Snowman” at the Rochambeau Theater in White Plains.  This is the 20th consecutive year of this production, and you’ll enjoy a performance of select numbers from the show.  There will also be a sing-a-long, and don’t forget your camera!   The whole family will also delight in delicious breakfast buffet that will be sure to please any palate.   The cost for “Breakfast with Frosty and Friends” is just $45 per person, and children under two are free.
