Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has announced the formal expansion of its global charter coverage into South Africa.

Nov. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has announced the formal expansion of its global charter coverage into South Africa.

The aircraft charter specialist has appointed Lizane Albers-Mostert as Business Development Manager for South Africa, based primarily in Johannesburg with responsibility for the strategic development of the company’s activity in the country and the surrounding region.

Her appointment follows a highly successful first 10 months of business for Chapman Freeborn’s office in Entebbe, Uganda, which opened in January 2009.

Lizane joins Chapman Freeborn with several years experience in the South African charter aviation industry.

Iain Clark, regional manager for Chapman Freeborn in Africa, said:

“We are delighted that Lizane is bringing her charter aviation skills and knowledge to Chapman Freeborn.

“Her appointment will help our worldwide offices further unlock the potential of Africa for our clients."

The expansion into South Africa underlines Chapman Freeborn’s position in Africa’s cargo charter market, where its client roster already includes major freight forwarders and international aid agencies, as well as other sectors including mining, energy, telecommunications and manufacturing industries.

Johannesburg is a major cargo centre and can accommodate wide body freighters from North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Working in tandem with the strategically-located Entebbe operation, Chapman Freeborn can then utilise appropriate cargo aircraft to connect to smaller and remote airstrips across Southern, Central and Eastern Africa.

In addition to the cargo operations, Lizane’s remit will also extend into growing the company’s passenger business in Africa, including executive and larger commercial aircraft charters.

Chapman Freeborn’s global offices are already seeing high demand for passenger charters to Johannesburg and other South African destinations ahead of next summer’s World Cup, and this is expected to increase further following the group stage draw in Cape Town on December 4.

Elsewhere, Chapman Freeborn will provide aircraft charters for clients ranging from multinational corporations to the sports industry and incentive travel organisers. The company’s worldwide expertise in supplying charter solutions for the music and movie business will also ensure a large number of VIP clients calling on their private jet services.

Chapman Freeborn has 32 offices in 22 countries across five continents. The company coordinated more than 5,000 cargo and passenger charters last year.
