Nov. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Teri, who has already reached great heights within Toastmasters having achieved DTM
(Distinguished Toastmaster) status, is following the Advanced Leadership course, and has now completed all the steps necessary for an Advanced Leader Bronze level award.  Toastmasters is an educational programme geared toward leadership and communication, especially public speaking. and by giving a spectacular educational, Teri was able to communicate to  her fellow members the virtues of mentoring and how it can be one of life's most valuable assets.

The meeting chair for the evening Carole Anne Levac, “Yes, it was a very professional
and warm presentation.  The introductions that night were about mentoring and Teri
tied in personal comments from the members into her presentation.”  Carole Anne also
says, “There was a question and answer period at the end which allowed the members
to pose questions about running a mentoring program in their current place of employment and much valuable information was shared.”

As if this weren't enough, Teri Kingston, has also won the District 61 evaluation contest at
the recent Fall Conference competition. At the contest in Chateau Bromont Quebec held the weekend of November 13 - 15, Teri won over 6 other competitors representing the top quality leaders out of over 3100 members.

Teri has been a successful and competitive member of Toastmasters since 2002 and an active Seaway member for about 4 years. Evaluation skills are essential to any successful communicator.  The art of Evaluation requires strong observation and analytical skills, and the speaker must be well-organized. Teri is the 4th member of Seaway Toastmasters to win this very prestigious Award.  Past winners include Carole Anne Levac, Harry Kingston (17), Elaine Kennedy (2), and Tom Swift.  To reach the District final, Teri won the Club, Area, and Division level competitions.

These are major accomplishments for Teri, and not only does she represent the quality of the programme Seaway Toastmasters Club uses to turn out such high calibre communicators and leaders, but she is also a testament to what can be attained by anyone who sets these kinds of goals.
