Nov. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- When Coral Pleas isn’t cultivating a stable of talented and hip hair stylists and styling the manes of Sarasota’s movers and shakers, the salon owner is searching for the most well coiffed pony at Sarasota Polo Club.  Coiffe is a term used to describe a style of arranging or combing the hair.

Cutting Loose will sponsor the most well coiffed pony and its player every Sunday this polo season.  The salon is filled with some of Sarasota’s most talented coiffures so the tongue in cheek reference was too much fun to resist.  The most well coiffed pony really is determined by his player, although there is something to be said about being the most well coiffed attendee at polo matches.

While the most well coiffed pony’s player must anticipate his opponent’s next move, the coiffures (who are now referred to as master stylists) at Cutting Loose travel multiple times a year both regionally and internationally to learn new techniques and stay ahead in the fashion game.

The sponsorship is just part of the way the successful salon is giving back to the community.

For the past 15 years, Coral has been an active supporter of Safe Place Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC).  Cutting Loose donates gift certificates to the shelter so women can come in for a day of pampering and fashion consulting.  Starting to feel better about themselves is an integral part of the healing process.  The salon’s stylists also dedicate their time and talent by providing the hair and make-up for SPARCC’s annual fashion show.  Held at the Ritz Carlton, the fashion show helps raise money to support SPARCC and their services.

The salon also supports Locks of Love, an organization that allows people to donate more than 10 inches of hair, which is then transformed into hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children with long-term cancer.  Each year, Cutting Loose holds an event where girls at Cardinal Mooney High School donate their hair and in return, get a fresh new look and a professional photo shoot.

Coral also participated in creating a foundation in honor of a stylist who lost her life in March 2007.  The Lisa Kreider Memorial Scholarship Fund which is held at the Community Foundation of Sarasota which provides scholarships to female students who need financial support to make their dream of pursuing a career in the industry.

A master stylist and partner who left a lucrative career at a prominent salon to start her own salon and have the opportunity to work with her adult children who have followed in her footsteps, Coral loves giving back to the community and her loyal clientele.

Cutting Loose is a full-service salon, offering many of today’s most popular product lines, including Paul Mitchell, Bumble & Bumble and Eufora.  The salon offers services for both male and female with hair style and color choices to match any personality.  Customers will receive the white glove treatment and feel pampered and refreshed after a trip to the salon.  Cutting Loose is located at 8429 Honore Avenue near the intersection of University Parkway in Sarasota.  For more information, visit cuttingloose.net.
