Dec. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- Joining Oceanic Consulting as it celebrates these remarkable individuals will be UK based charity Save the Children. The organisation is the chosen charity for the event on 14 December, which is being organised by Oceanic Consulting, the Scottish-based black and ethnic promotions consultancy.
The Awards celebrates those young adults among us who have superhero qualities, and it is these admirable qualities that have made Oceanic Consulting partner with Save the Children for the second year running, given their current Superheroes Campaign.
In addition, among the acts taking part at this year’s Awards will be Malaysian dance group, Ulek Mayang. Compromising of a group of Malaysian students studying in Glasgow, the group will be performing a pre-Islamic trance dance, accompanied by singing and music in Terengganu, a state in Malaysia, for which the dance has now become associated with as part of Terengganu’s beautiful culture.
The event will also be an opportunity for people to find out more about the work of Save the Children. Working in over 50 developing countries, the charity has saved millions of children since its inception in 1919, with recent projects helping hundreds of thousands of children displaced by natural disasters in, most recently, Indonesia.

Nicola Sinclair, Community Fundraising Executive at Save the Children said: “When an emergency strikes, Save the Children leap into action immediately, so that we can reach the children and families caught up in a disaster as quickly as possible. We want the UK public to leap into action too. We know there are thousands of superheroes out there who can raise vital funds to help Save the Children scale up in an emergency.

“We have ambitious plans, we desperately want to reach more children and save more lives in an emergency and we need funds as soon as a disaster strikes so we can get out there straight away and start to help the families affected. And we can’t do this without your help. Your school, your friends, your colleges or people at your local supermarket can all help to raise money.”
Oceanic Consulting said: “The work Save the Children does for impoverished children, worldwide, is incredible, and we fully support the Superheroes Campaign. We think the Awards will be a great way to spread the word on the work Save the Children do, and to rally up more superheroes for their latest campaign.”
The free event will take place at Glasgow’s City Chambers from 5pm until 9.30pm. For more information please contact Oceanic Consulting on 0141 243 2848 or visit the website www.whozthedaddy.info
