Jewellery designer to the stars, and based in the beautiful heritage city of Bath, Marcia Henden, hopes that her latest creation will be the crowning glory for an outstanding businesswoman who is being awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen.

Having designed pieces for celebrities such as Caprice, Marcia was the designer of choice for fashion stylist, Lisa Maynard-Atem of STYLISA, when she discovered that her client, Marilyn Comrie was to receive this very special honour.

Friday 4th December will be a red letter day at Buckingham Palace.  Business mentoring champion Marilyn Comrie, will be awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to women in enterprise.  It is only fitting that on her special day, she has requested the help of three female entrepreneurs to help her look her best.

Marcia has worked with Lisa, and fashion designer Jane Phelps of couture fashion brand JStreet, to perfect Marilyn’s personal presentation at the Palace.  However, although this is not the first time that the three aspiring entrepreneurs have collaborated, it will be one of the most memorable.

Marcia says “it is a great privilege to be working with such talented people.  The wardrobe has been chosen with style and élan befitting the investiture ceremony.  I have designed the jewellery especially for the occasion and I am very excited to see my designs appear in front of the Queen”.

Marcia is well known in international circles for her wonderful designs and innovative jewellery.  Known as the 'Queen of Pearls' by her appreciative clients, she has specialised in bringing pearls to the forefront of innovative fashion design to compliment contemporary fashion.  Her pieces are beautifully designed, crafted to stand the test of time, and are destined to become vintage inheritance pieces for the future.  Marcia started designing and making jewellery for the wedding market.  However, a lucky break with a well known 'couture designer' launched her overnight, into a whole new arena and client base.  Since then her designs have been part of many Haute Couture catwalk collections and celebrity red carpet events.

Says Marcia “Marilyn is a very special lady who has done so much to help women in the workplace and business, so it is an honour to design something special for her big day”.  When asked if she would be happy to design something for her majesty's Diamond Jubilee, the 'Queen of Pearls' just smiled and nodded an affirmative!  I have a feeling this will not be the last we see of Marcia's wonderful jewellery at Buckingham Palace!

Earlier this year, Marcia was asked to design a jewellery collection for Supermodel turned Businesswoman, Caprice Bourret.  Caprice recently launched her “By Caprice” Autumn/Winter collection which was aired on  Satellite Channel, Fashion TV, to an audience of millions around the world.   Marcia, whose designs are favoured by celebrities for Premiers and Red Carpet Events, as well as couture designers, designed a special bespoke collection for Caprice, compromising of beautifully crafted pieces made from Rose Quartz and varying gemstones.

Marcia says "the designs complimented and emphasized the light and feminine aspect of Caprice's collection.  Rose quartz is widely regarded as the love stone, so it seemed a natural choice to use for this collection.

Marcia Henden is definitely a name to keep an eye on in the future, not only at celebrity attended events, but more importantly next year when she launches her stunning collections in selected retail outlets  The collection has already attracted rave reviews from fashion buyers in London, Paris, Berlin and Milan.  The demand is exceptional for a premier collection in retail.  This is obviously a talented young designer with a dazzling future!
