Dare 2 Care's Celebrity Toy Drive and Show in Atlanta, GA to Benefit Kids of Incarcerated Parents

Dare 2 Care, Inc. launches first annual fundraiser, “Street Dreams Celebrity Toy Drive and Show”. Come out and support Dare 2 Care, Inc. and help them deck the halls with toys to benefit children of incarcerated parents
 
Dec. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Dare 2 Care, Inc. invites the public to come out and support the first annual Street Dreams Celebrity Toy Drive and Show on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Atrium, located at 5479 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA.  Local and national Hip-hop performing artists will be on hand autographing their cds and several artists will perform at the fundraiser.  Hip-hop celebrity moms Aliyah Najm (T-Pain’s mom), H. Loraine Smith (Ne-Yo’s mom) and Jacida Carter (Lil Wayne’s mom) of the upcoming talk show, Dinner Table Discussions will serve as special guests for the event.  Tex James, Project Pat and the Ben Hill Squad will perform at the holiday event.  Admission is $10 with an unwrapped toy and $20 without a toy. The toys and funds will be distributed to the children of incarcerated parents, who may otherwise not receive any gifts for Christmas. Surprise celebrity guests will be present.
There will be autograph signings and “meet and greet” for the kids from 6-7:30 p.m.  The kids will be entertained by recording artists, the Rich Kids and OMG Girlz, BET’s Tiny & Toya’s daughters.  Hip Hop Artists Tex James, Princess from Crime Mob, Drummer Boy, Travis Porter, Gorrilla Zoe and Atlanta Falcon’s Travis Williams and friends will also sign autographs.  Producers Chris Flame, Zaytoven, Drummer Boy, DJ AAries and DJ Nappy Boyz and numerous indie artists will appear at the event.  At 8 p.m. the adults will have take over the Atrium and show their support for this worthy cause.
Theresa Strachan, president and Michelle Flowers, vice-president of Dare 2 Care, Inc., would like to ensure that the kids of incarcerated parents are not forgotten.  “I think it is important to give back to the community.  Our communities are always supporting personalities, entertainers, athletes and businesses and we feel that these entities should actually start giving back more to the community,” says Flowers.
   Dare 2 Care, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to  improve the educational, health and socio-economical status of  at-risk youth and underprivileged families especially that of children in rural areas, small cities and major cities that are not classified as an A or B market. Dare 2 Care, Inc., created Street Dreams series. The series will be held quarterly; bringing diverse adolescents and young adults to address issues of having a parent or family member incarcerated in federal and state prisons.
