California’s ONLY Hip Hop and Urban Dance Academy Opening in Sacramento

Jan. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- After announcing their upcoming arrival to existing students, Studio T’s website visitor count tripled in just one hour.  They were flooded with registrants before completion of renovation on the 5000 sqft dance space, which is part of a 38,000 sqft family activity center.  “The great thing about Hip Hop is that it color blind.  It is not gender specific, or age specific.”  Says owner, Tamaira Sandifer. “If you like the beat of the music, you are bound to start moving to it.”  Tamaira Sandifer has studied dance for nearly twenty years and teaching various forms of urban dances for sixteen years.  She has been a volunteer instructor for several local non-profits youth programs and schools all over Northern California.  Sandifer decided to launch Studio T after finding the city didn’t have the same culturally rich dance programs she grew up on.  “With all the diversity Sacramento has, music and dance is a universal medium where children can learn more a little more about other cultures”.

Being the new kid on the block, Studio T offers a fresh perspective on all the hottest must-have skill set for any youth. The classes provided are above and beyond what their competition offers. Studio T’s instructors have access to continual training with some of the countries' top professional coaches and choreographers. This provides our students with up-to-date steps and technique as well as access to the latest and greatest multicultural dance trends. Studio T welcomes a diversity of people and maintains a non-smoking, drug, alcohol, and gang free environment.

Although dance is a large part of what they do, Studio T is not just about the Hip Hop classes, they are strong advocates for youth fitness.  They use hip hop as a tool to attract children and keep them into shape.  “Most school, and after school athletics offer sports which require some degree of skill or talent, where dance is less demanding.  You simply need the desire to move to the music, we can teach you the rest.” says director  Tamaira Sandifer.

Studio T Urban Dance Academy houses one of the top Hip Hop and urban Dance programs in the country, and is definitely putting the City of Sacramento on the map in the world of urban Dance.  They have caught the eye of such shows as the Tyra Banks Show, the Ellen Degeneres Show, and many local media and programs.
