The Trumpet Awards Foundation Presents The 18th Annual Trumpet Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. (Jan. 14, 2010) — The stars will align once again for the highly anticipated 18th Annual Trumpet Awards, which will take place on  Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the John A. Williams Theater Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. This year promises to be as exciting as the previous years, with a spectacular lineup of rare performances, legendary presenters, a stellar list of honorees and the most electrifying Red Carpet ever.  

The Trumpet Awards Foundation will continue the rich tradition of presenting the Trumpet Awards, bringing out some of the biggest and brightest talent of all time. This exclusive, star-studded celebration — attended by entertainment icons and the who’s who in business, politics, religion, law, sports and entertainment — will conclude a Week-End series of prestigious events that attract hundreds of people to the city of Atlanta.  

As part of the evening's festivities, the 2010 Trumpet Awards will salute entertainment icon, Steve Harvey with the coveted Pinnacle Award and music legend, Frankie Beverly with the Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of their significant contributions to the entertainment industry and the African-American community. Additionally, the awards will spotlight and celebrate a stellar list of 2010 Honorees.  

The Awards will kick off with a glamorous Red Carpet Roll Out, hosted by one of America’s favorite daytime TV judges, the Honorable Judge Glenda Hatchett, famed fashion designer and Bravo Television Reality Star, Mychael Knight, WSB-TV News Personality, Jovita Moore and nationally syndicated radio host, Warren Ballentine. Guests will begin to arrive at 3:30 p.m. to mix and mingle on the Trumpet Awards Red Carpet; the Trumpet Awards Show starts promptly at 5:00 p.m.

Throughout the evening, the Trumpet Awards will be presented to some of today’s most accomplished businessmen, activists and unsung heroes. "This year we will continue in the tradition and spirit of the Trumpet Awards which began more than 18 years ago. We are thrilled to bring such a stunning and unforgettable event that celebrates excellence, freedom and diversity, at its finest. It is truly a magical evening celebrating individuals who have had a profound impact in our community and on our world,” shares Trumpet Awards Creator and Executive Producer, Xernona Clayton.
