The goal of Wyatt-Johnson Auto Credit is to provide reliable vehicles combined with in-store financing for the budget-conscious customer.
By: Catherine Highfill The Wyatt-Johnson leadership team studied the credit market over the past year and a half and decided customers needed additional financing sources. “In watching these trends we saw an opportunity to diversify,” shares Katherine. “We also wanted to satisfy the need for financing for good, reliable transportation.” The idea of forming a Wyatt-Johnson financial institution was born. The two-story building at 809 Kraft Street was the perfect fit, offering convenience, service bays, office space and a showroom. Shared with Access Car Rental, everything needed to open the store was available. Wyatt-Johnson Auto Credit, dealer principals Sidney Johnson and Katherine Johnson Cannata visited several other auto ‘buy here, pay here’ stores. In doing so they realized the number of people that needed the option of weekly payments, or semi-monthly payments was significant. The payments are structured to mirror the customer’s work pay cycle. According to the most recent Polk Data Reports, in 2009 there was an average of nearly 4,500 used vehicle registrations in the Clarksville area every month. The demand for used vehicles is significant and continues to grow. Staffed with two full-time employees, Wyatt-Johnson Auto Credit has already helped many customers. “The excitement of helping these people is contagious,” Many of the cars sold are trade-ins from the Wyatt-Johnson stores on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Each vehicle sold includes a 6 month or 10,000 mile warranty and includes free oil changes for the life of the note. Most vehicles are priced between $7,995 and $11,995 with weekly payments between $70 and $100. Wyatt-Johnson Auto Credit also pays a referral fee of $50.00. “We are looking forward to the future and operating this business in the growing city of Clarksville,” # # # About Wyatt-Johnson Automotive Group Wyatt-Johnson Automotive Group was founded in 1946 by Henry Wyatt.
