The warm reception from Kolkata’s participants, an impromptu television interview and numerous evening social events during his stay made it clear that India was ahead of Thailand in the area of promotion and the acceptance of international coaches. Their interest is keen and their thirst for golfing truth is extremely high. International coaching brings credibility and in this case offered solutions that students can believe in. Every student was amazed that there were actual answers to their questions and direct ways to improve their golfing skills. “Thank you for organizing this camp for us. We appreciate it every bit. I was personally very pleased to know the definitive explanations for a lot of confusions” said PS Soni. Our association with Protouch Golf Academy, the Royal Calcutta Golf Club and the Tollygunge Golf Club is the first step in expanding The Prem Golf Academy’s name throughout India. As a result of this successful visit, The Prem Golf Academy is currently putting together one- to four-week programmes for students, families and adults from all over India to come to Thailand for golf studies while residing at The Prem Center. Future plans are also being discussed with Mercedes Benz for Spike’s return to conduct additional corporate and client clinics. “Indrajit and I are planning an international connection that would have me returning to India several times per year,” said Spike, “ targeting New Delhi, other areas of India and a follow-up in Kolkata.” Spike was highly impressed with the extremely polite and respectful manners of the juniors. “You can imagine my surprise and delight when I saw twenty kids reach into their golf bags for their notebooks and write down every concept and principle we discussed,” he said. Spike’s knowledge of the golf swing and personal demeanor was well-received over the course of the week. By introduction, parents stated that they felt like they already knew Spike because their children had got them to look at the Golf Academy’s website. By Friday one boy improved his usual score by twelve strokes! Kulbir Mehta, said of his daughter, a Teaching Professional, “Rukmini sure did have a great time learning and with (his) guidance she was able to grasp a lot of the finer aspects as well as a number of key techniques from the sessions (she) had with them. She is so passionate about her golf and teaching and such opportunities do not come by every day.” “It is a great honor to be working with Indrajit Bhalotia who is a great golfer and a very fine gentleman. Our desire to promote golf and lower handicaps for anyone who wants to learn will have our two Academies in the spotlight in the near future,” says Spike. “I would like very much to say a special thank you to The Protouch Staff of Siddharth Nag, Abhishek Ghosh, Rukmini Mehta and all the others who made my stay most wonderful and enchanting.” # # # The only golf facility in Northern Thailand offering 1st class instruction in a professional learning environment.
