Follow on Google News | National Jets-Fort Lauderdale Offering Bonus WingPoints® for Football's Biggest Gamelying into South Florida’s National Jets (KFLL) for the upcoming pro football all star and title games could earn pilots and schedulers up to 10,000 bonus WingPoints® from Phillips 66® Aviation.
By: Mark Klein - FKM From January 27 through February 10, 2010, transactions made at National Jets with a WingPoints Rewards Card will earn 5,000 bonus points. If a Phillips 66-branded credit card is used in conjunction with a WingPoints card, then 10,000 points will be awarded. “It’s a big deal for the big games,” explains Russ Boy, Sr., Vice President/General Manager for National Jets, which sports one of the newest FBO terminals in South Florida. WingPoints can be earned on every aviation fuel purchase at National Jets and other participating Phillips 66 FBOs. WingPoints can then be redeemed online at wingpoints.com for debit or gift cards, or donated to charities such as Angel Flight and Young Eagles. This year marks the 10th time South Florida and National Jets has hosted football’s foremost event – a record for one locale. Boy says National’s vast experience with sporting events makes it well-prepared to handle the demand, along with the needs of pilots and passengers. “Our location at Ft. Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport helps avoid the delays and congestion that can happen at smaller airports,” explains Russ Boy, Sr. “But more than that, we live and breathe aviation, fully understanding our customer needs from the perspective of both pilots and schedulers. It is a skill that we have tried to perfect since 1945, both as an FBO and as an operator of fleets.” The aviation roots for the family-owned firm of 108 associates run deep, some 65 years, with a history that ranges from managing a fleet of large aircraft (flying oil drilling equipment to South America, distributing the Wall Street Journal throughout the United States, and shipping fresh and refrigerated produce across the Caribbean) to training former fighter pilots for their transition to corporate flying after the Vietnam War. Football fans can fly virtually any large aircraft into National, which has 22,000 square feet of hangar space and ramp parking. The FBO also provides direct assistance with customs entry, special rates for local hotels on the beach or Intercoastal, plus onsite rental cars. National’s Part 145-certified aircraft maintenance and avionic repair station handles Boeing Business Jets, Learjets, Gulfstreams, Falcons, Citations and Astra Jets. “If you fly into National, we can handle it,” says Boy.
