Jeff Johnson & Avenue Pink Speak Up for Generation Y: Modern Perspectives of Black History Month

Avenue Pink honors Black History Month with social activist, Jeff Johnson, and teen educator, Dr. Scyatta Wallace, in live radio broadcast to discuss how millenials relate to Black heritage today, airing Monday, February 1, 10 p.m. EST.

Feb. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Avenue Pink kicks off Black History Month with social activist and political commentator, Jeff Johnson, and psychologist/teen expert, Dr. Scyatta Wallace, for an important discussion on how the legacy of Black history is experienced by today's youth, in a live radio broadcast on Monday, February 1 at 10 p.m. EST.

Setting the tone for Black History Month, the Avenue Pink show pays tribute to the cultural celebration with a panel discussion on how Generation Y, millennials, relate to the Black historical, socioeconomic and political experience of our past and present. Featured guests, Jeff Johnson and Dr. Scyatta A. Wallace will share their respective outlooks on Black heritage and their insight on top trending issues currently affecting the young Black community.

From his celebrated conversations with marquee world figures in the political, business and entertainment arenas to his grass-roots initiatives to inspire the next generation of leaders; award-winning journalist, Jeff Johnson, joins Avenue Pink to represent the progressive school of thought - the voice for change. Currently, Jeff is a commentator on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show tackling issues on politics, entertainment and social policy issues, sharing the microphone with Harvard Law lecturer, Stephanie Robinson.

Also set to appear on the show, Dr. Scyatta A. Wallace, CEO and founder, the Janisaw Company, will bring fundamental insight from the perspective of her work as a self-esteem and life skills educator for teen girls. With the Janisaw Company, Dr. Wallace has been instrumental in facilitating the signature program THE MINDMAKEOVER, a series of character-building, interactive youth development workshops at community organizations, churches and schools. Wallace currently works with The Mary J. Blige Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. (FFAWN) to develop and facilitate workshops for teen girls.
