AC Milan's Clarence Seedorf Named Honorary Chairman of 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup

Cleveland Hosts Elite Youth Soccer Tournament during the Fourth of July Weekend
 
Feb. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Cleveland, OH - The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission has named AC Milan midfielder, Clarence Seedorf as the honorary chairman for the 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament. Seedorf is known around the globe for his many achievements as a top international soccer athlete (footballer). To date, the Dutch native has claimed four Champions League winner’s medals with three different Clubs, two FIFA Club World Cup triumphs, one UEFA Super Cup, four domestic league titles, two domestic cups, and three domestic super cups. Moreover, Seedorf is an inspirational leader who has based his personal and professional life around a strong set of principals and values, making a difference all around the world with his humanitarian efforts.

The AC Milan Continental Cup continues to be one of the fastest growing international youth soccer tournaments in the nation, offering athletes the opportunity to play competitively against quality teams from around the globe. Now in its fifth year, the tournament has grown at a rapid pace, from 36 participating teams in its inaugural year in 2006 to over 130 in 2009. The 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup is estimating that over 160 teams (U9 – U19) from around the world will participate in the tournament scheduled from July 1-4, 2010 at Lost Nation Sports Park in Willoughby, Ohio and John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.

The AC Milan Continental Cup is one of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission’s annual proprietary events, combining competitive international soccer with cultural exchange, entertainment, attractions, shopping and exciting activities. In 2008, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission officially partnered with AC Milan, naming them the title sponsor of the 2009 and 2010 Tournament. The Continental Cup is one of two tournaments in the world endorsed by AC Milan, the world’s most successful soccer institution and most decorated club.
