“I am thrilled to serve as honorary chairman for the 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup,” said Clarence Seedorf. “Through sports we can speak a universal language to inspire youth and future generations by sharing positive values and promoting integration and peace.” The AC Milan Continental Cup continues to be one of the fastest growing international youth soccer tournaments in the nation, offering athletes the opportunity to play competitively against quality teams from around the globe. Now in its fifth year, the tournament has grown at a rapid pace, from 36 participating teams in its inaugural year in 2006 to over 130 in 2009. The 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup is estimating that over 160 teams (U9 – U19) from around the world will participate in the tournament scheduled from July 1-4, 2010 at Lost Nation Sports Park in Willoughby, Ohio and John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. The AC Milan Continental Cup is one of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission’s annual proprietary events, combining competitive international soccer with cultural exchange, entertainment, attractions, shopping and exciting activities. In 2008, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission officially partnered with AC Milan, naming them the title sponsor of the 2009 and 2010 Tournament. The Continental Cup is one of two tournaments in the world endorsed by AC Milan, the world’s most successful soccer institution and most decorated club.
