Feb. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Taxback.com’s Haiti Orphan Fund has been set up in association with Irish registered charity the International Orphanage Development Programme (IODP) to provide dedicated relief for the thousands of earthquake affected orphans in Haiti. http://haitiorphanfund.com/

The 7.0 magnitude earthquake which stuck Haiti on January 12th and killed more than 100,000 people left thousands of children without parents and support. Many of these children are now living in the streets desperate for shelter, food and help.

Taxback.com’s Haiti Orphan Fund will provide a coordinated response in liaison with the IODP and organisations on the ground in Haiti to support these orphans and ensure they receive the necessary aid. http://www.taxback.com/news.asp?commout=1&id_news=235

Taxback.com has an office in Port au Prince in Haiti. The office is based in the Digicel building which was one of the few building in the capital city least affected by the earthquake. All seven taxback.com staff are accounted for.

Immediate aid from the taxback.com Haiti Orphan Fund and will be provided to Our Little Brothers and Sisters Orphanage, an Irish-run orphanage one and a half hours up Route Kenscoff from Petionville in Port-au-Prince. The orphanage has 350 children and was badly affected by the earthquake.

“The issue at the moment is how we can push forward to help. My focus will be on the children of Haiti now – so many kids have lost their parents – how they’re going to cope with that, whose going to take care of them,” Doyle says.

“Our hope is that the Haiti Orphan Fund will help protect and build a future for post-earthquake orphans in Haiti.”
