MedEZ™ Releases ePharmacy Module Live

Feb. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Davie, FL – MedEZ™, the leading provider of medical and behavioral health management software, today announces the release of its MedEZ™ ePharmacy Module. At the beginning of February 2010, the module was released for immediate use. “The ePharmacy feature had been a long time request of our practitioners and private practice clients”, acknowledged Thedy Brezault, President/CEO of MedEZ™. “Our goal was to make writing and retrieving prescriptions effortless so as to promote a paperless office that is compliant with the Meaningful Use of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act”.

To develop the module, MedEZ™ worked with an advisory board of health care providers to add this feature that will make writing and managing a patient’s prescription easier. Dr. Innocent of I&B Medical Associates, a long standing client of MedEz says, “Adding ePharmacy has made prescription writing quick and efficient. The MedEZ™ ePharmacy feature allows practitioners to quickly write and issue prescriptions while gaining access to medication history outside of the existing physician practice. The Module can store preferences and templates that can be set up at a facility or individual practitioner level. Another feature that ePharmacy boasts is the ability to screen for adverse drug interactions when writing prescriptions. Not only can the patient retrieve a prescription from any Pharmacy that is ePharmacy compliant, but the module is available to practitioners anywhere at anytime. In addition, the inclusion of this module can qualify facilities for reimbursement under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
