Due to the detrimental effects of air pollution and global warming on human health, organisms and the environment, many governments have put in place policies to regulate emissions in order to mitigate air pollution problems and slow or reverse the onset of future warming.

In light of the projected consequences of global warming on current and future generations, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was formed in 1992 as an international environmental treaty aimed at stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations on an international scale.

According to Jay and Dr. Sung, the professional trainers for Emission Reduction Workshop “This workshop will provide a platform for HSE, technical, environmental engineering, and industrial engineering experts in oil & gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing sectors to meet and discuss issues pertaining emissions reduction and methods to improve on current practices”.
