March 13, 2010 - PRLog -- C. Ronaldo, scored another spectacular goal from a free kick this weekend, one of the six goals that Real Madrid thrashed Villareal with. After the festivities, the player ran to display the name "Madeira" on a t-shirt under his jersey.

Yesterday, FC Porto, President, Pinto da Costa assured us that Cristiano Ronaldo will be present at the solidarity football game that will be organized by his team at the Dragon Stadium between FC Porto and the Madeira team.

It’s already been agreed, including with the representative of Real Madrid. The solidarity game will more than likely fill the Dragon Stadium and help raise some money to help the victims of the Madeira floods. The game will be the first chance to see Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Micael and Danny (all Portugal internationals) playing together for the selection of Madeira.

Yesterday, Ronaldo was in "awe, shocked and dismayed" by the calamity that happened on Saturday in his native island, according to the website “Gestifute”, the company that manages his career. Cristiano Ronaldo also said on Saturday that the storm was "a great catastrophe, a tragedy without precedent".

The player joins "the pain of all the Madeiran people" and solidarity with all the locals, lamenting the loss of dozens of lives, indicates Gestifute. "Nobody can remain indifferent to this disaster of major proportions, let alone me, who was born and raised in Madeira, an island which obviously means so much to me" says Cristiano Ronaldo, cited by Gestifute.

"And it’s for this reason that I express my willingness to, as far as I possibly can, help organizations and local officials in helping minimize and overcome the effects of this devastation," concludes Cristiano Ronaldo.

This Saturday, Madeira Island suffered, the worst floods in the last 200 years, creating panic and chaos across most of the southern part of the island, with 42 confirmed deaths, 120 injured, 250 left homeless and an unknown number of missing.
