Boot Rebuilding Just Another Perk of Wesco Custom Made Boots

While other companies offer boot resoling and boot repair, Wesco offers its customers a complete boot rebuild for just 60% of the original cost. Boot rebuilding allows customers to make small changes to ensure perfect fitting custom made boots.

Feb. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Scappoose, OR, February 26, 2010 -- West Coast Shoe Company, (Wesco®), a 92-year-old family-owned and operated maker of handcrafted boots, has released a much-anticipated DVD that illustrates their comprehensive boot rebuilding process. Much more extensive than a simple boot resoling or boot repair, Wesco completely overhauls each pair of boots, returning them to their brand new glory.

Wescos are built from the finest American-made materials and are built to last — but nothing lasts forever, especially when exposed to rugged conditions, as Wescos often are. After years of steady use, parts of the boots will inevitably show the signs of wear and tear and need to be replaced. Rather than buying a new pair, Wesco offers customers the option of having their boots restored to close to their original condition — for a bit over half the price of new boots. Sometimes customers need minor alterations to their foot measurements or resizing, and these changes can be made during rebuilding.

"Wesco boots are an investment, and by offering the option to rebuild the boots after they're past their prime, we're making sure customers get the most value possible," said Wesco President Roberta Shoemaker.

The DVD walks viewers through each step of rebuild process, from when the worn-out boots arrive at the factory to the final good-as-new result, and everything that happens to them in between. The heels, outsoles, midsoles and insoles are replaced; the shanks, counters, vamps, laces, and false tongues are changed out; and even the eyelets are rotated. The boot rebuild video can be viewed here: vimeo.com/9740653.

For nearly a century, Wesco has been manufacturing an array of outstanding American made footwear. Wesco boots are built to be tough enough to withstand the conditions of Oregon's timber camps or ride down the mean streets of Sturgis, and fashionable enough to walk the high runways of New York and Paris and light up the big screen in blockbuster films such as Ghost Rider, Terminator and The Aviator. Wesco has a worldwide reputation for quality, craftsmanship and a loyal customer base. To watch and learn more about the Wesco story, the company's videos can be seen here: wescoboots.com/dvd/
