Detroit’s Bobby Ferguson Enterprises Continues with 2nd Generation of Family Leadership

Feb. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Detroit, MI - Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. (FEI) (formerly known as Ferguson Hauling and Grading) was founded in 1968 by Homer and Annie Ferguson. Ferguson was known throughout the industry as being dependable and honest.  He often entered into a contract with a handshake.  His word and handshake was good enough to seal the deal.  The jobs were completed on time and the vendors were all paid.

In 1993, Homer’s Son, Bobby Ferguson with his father’s tutelage, became responsible for the company’s operations.

In Detroit, Bobby Ferguson’s formal education in Construction Engineering came from Lawrence Technical University.  Under Bobby’s leadership, Ferguson Enterprises began a period of steady growth and profitability.  With 30-plus years of experience, FEI is a significant leader with specialty contracting in the earthwork, underground utilities and demolition industry.

Ferguson Enterprises has been a huge part of southeast Michigan’s water and sewage infrastructure since 1968.  The Ferguson Underground Utility Division has installed over 400,000 lineal feet of water and sewage main.  This division has performed upgrades to improve the domestic water service and fire protection flows within the community.  

FEI, as a company on the move in both size and stature, has an employee roster of over 150 skilled and professional support staff.  The company is fully insured for general liability and workers’ compensation insurance.   As a Minority Business Enterprise, FEI is certified with the State of Michigan and the City of Detroit.

Today FEI remains a family-owned business with an accomplished record of over 40 years of quality service.  “We continue to serve private industries and our public sector clients: For example, local and regional municipalities, the Detroit Public Schools, the Detroit Water and Sewage Department with Site Development, Earthwork, Underground Utility and Demolition.
