British Based Online Doctor Site Launches

March 1, 2010 - PRLog -- ThanksDr offers a new way of accessing medical advice.  There are now a plethora of online doctor sites trying to attract British patients.  However, these are all based abroad and some of the more popular sites do not check their advisors’ qualifications.  ThanksDr is different.  All our doctors are not only British trained but have at least seven years of registration with the General Medical Council. As well as being knowledgeable and caring, they understand the workings of the NHS and private health care in the UK.

Online doctor sites are a new way of complimenting health care but arming patients with information.  Online doctors can help at every stage of a patient’s pathway through the medical system: from deciding whether to consult a doctor; to preparing to see a specialist; or seeking a second opinion about treatment choices.  We have answered questions for people too embarrassed to ask their own doctor, worried about their relative’s or friend’s situation or who know there’s something wrong but haven’t felt they have been believed by the doctors they have seen so far.

Free online doctor sites also exist. These either do not guarantee that you will receive an answer so they can choose the best questions for their site (a bit like writing to an agony aunt in a newspaper) or else some less scrupulous online doctor sites claim to be free but charge you after you have invested time and effort, before you can access your answer.  ThanksDr has an upfront, open and simple payment policy.

As a promotional offer ThanksDr are charging only £15 to ask a question of the online doctor, as opposed to the usual £25.  This will allow you to ask your question and continue a dialogue with the online doctor until you are happy that you have understood.
